The Bear:
First of all my parents did not do me any favors when it came to the whole “let’s name our kid” thing. Don’t get me wrong, I love my name…which is Aaron, by the way. Yet, as you can see, Aaron is a male name. For the record, I am not a man. I may love sports like a man, eat wings like a man, and occasionally cuss like a man, but I am NOT a man. Secondly, I go by my middle name. As those of you know, I’m just not an Elizabeth. Anyways, I digress. In high school I was often called airbear, well that can be a mouth full so it eventually got shortened to just bear. It’s pretty fitting because I guess I’m considered the leader of this pack. Yep, the Bear roars louder than the Beast himself. I am currently a Sport and Entertainment Management major at the University of South Carolina. My dream is to work in sports merchandise marketing at Nike. In addition, I am a craft loving, wannabe cook/baker, all around mini Martha Stewart.
The Beast:
The other two-legged member of this pack. The Beast is, well, a beast. Measuring in at six feet nine inches, he is certainly our bodyguard. The Beast and I met in high school when he came to America from his motherland, Lithuania, to play basketball his senior year. We have been dating about 3 years and is probably loved more by my family than I am. A fact I'm proud of, but one that probably scares him to death! We are a pretty crazy family. Since his time here he has become a Division-I center for a school in the south. Although we don't attend the same university, we are close by and see each other often.
The Bone:
Oh the Bone...also know as the Hambone, Hamilton or Cat. This little man is a miniature dachshund with a large personality. Some days he is a 60 year old man stuck in a 5 year old dog's body. Other days he seems more of a puppy than he ever did those first few months we had him. Although a very handsome boy, we sometimes lovingly think of him as a Cat. As you can see from the picture, he loves to curl up on the top of furniture. He really doesn't do commands. Sure, he is smart enough, but in his mind why does he need to "sit" when we all know he is cute enough to get a treat by just existing. The Bone lives back home with my family since a small student apartment really is not up to his high standards. Nevertheless, he is still a very dominate member of the crew.
The Bug:
Where to even begin with the bug. Callie Bug is an Australian Labradoodle who will be a year old this coming January (we're already planning the party). My Mom was a doctor for 20+ years and saw a lot of therapy dogs used in her field. After retiring, she fell more and more in love with this breed and their amazing potential as therapy dogs. She decided to start her own breeding program. After years of research, the creation of a website (www.gooddaydoodles.com), and a giant puppy nursery in the upstairs of my house (you have never seen anything cuter), my mom started bringing amazing dogs into this world to be not only service and therapy animals, but companion pets as well. Callie is currently being trained to be a certified therapy dog, and we could not be more excited about the incredible things she will do one day. She is a TV loving, head out the back window, mud worshiping pup who I could not live without.
